Ronald C. "Duck" Stanford, age 72, of Wooster, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at Smithville-Western Care Center in Wooster where he was surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on March 26, 1952 in Wooster to Kenneth Wayne and Dora Lee (Edington) Stanford and has been a Wooster resident for all of his life.

He later married Georgia D. "Doris" Shipley on September 16, 1978 in Wooster. She went home to be with the Lord on September 16, 2021.

He had previously worked for Sandy Supply Co. and then with Santmyer Oil Co. for many years before his retirement. Following his retirement, he then helped with transporting the Amish.

He enjoyed going to car shows and loved listening to the Oldies music. He mostly loved spending time with his family and grandchildren.

He is survived by his children, Jina Smith, Kenneth (Patty Shafer-Wilson) Stanford and Christopher (Melinda) Stanford; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild; 2 sisters, Sharon Williams of Orrville, Ohio and Vickie Miller of Apple Creek, Ohio; 6 nephews, 1 niece; her good friends, Denise Gonser of West Salem, Ohio, Paul Kelley of Wooster, Ohio, Terry Santmyer of Wooster, Ohio, Duane (Ida) Schlabach & Family, Rodger Datsun and his faithful canine companion, "CoCo".

In addition to his parents and beloved wife, Georgia, he is preceded in death by his 2 brothers, Robert "Bob" Grizzly Stanford and Dale "Curley" Stanford and his step-father, Forrest Yockey.

A visitation for family and friends will be Monday, from 6 - 8 pm at Custer-Glenn Funeral Home, 2284 Benden Dr., in Wooster.

A private interment will take place at East Union Cemetery in Wooster at a later date at the convenience of the family.
