Anne A. Salyer, age 93, of Rittman, passed away on Sunday, June 9, 2024, at the Apostolic Christian Home in Rittman, following a period of declining health.

Born on October 1, 1930, in Wooster, Ohio, Anne was the daughter of the late Irvin and Pearl (Barnhart) Knepp. On May 1, 1954, she married the love of her life, Harold Salyer, in Rittman. Harold preceded her in death on February 5, 2021.

Anne graduated from Rittman High School in 1948 and embarked on a remarkable career as a Registered Nurse at Akron General Medical Center, where she dedicated 42 years of compassionate service before retiring in 1993.

She was a devoted member of the Rittman United Methodist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star. Anne found joy in her work, passionately caring for others as a nurse. She was also an avid sports fan and cherished spending time with her grandchildren. Anne and Harold shared a love for travel, particularly enjoying journeys to Army reunions together.

Left to cherish her memory are her two daughters, Julie (Dave) Clay of Granville, OH, and Lori (Bill) Ullman of Rittman, OH; four grandchildren, Betsy (Dave) Smith of Harrison City, PA, Ryan (Carolyn) Clay of Katy, TX, Scott Clay of Granville, OH, and Rick (Kim) Ullman of Copley, OH; seven great-grandchildren, Maddie Smith, David, Grace, Jackson & Sadie Clay, Maksim & Keira Ullman. Anne was preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Loretta (Salyer) Langguth, and her brother-in-law, Fred Langguth.

Graveside services will be held at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery on Friday, June 14, 2024 at 12:15 pm with Pastor Ruthie Trigg officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Rittman United Methodist Church (211 N. Metzger St., Rittman, OH 44270) or the Apostolic Christian Home (10680 Steiner Rd., Rittman, OH 44270).

Anne will be remembered fondly for her unwavering kindness, her dedication to others, and the love she shared with her family and community. May she rest in peace.
