Sandy J. Stutzman, age 80, of Smithville, peacefully passed away on Friday, June 7, 2024, at her residence.

Sandy was born on November 25, 1943, in Massillon, Ohio, to the late George and Jeanette (Wagner) Shaffer. She graduated from Smithville High School in the class of 1961. On December 9, 1962, she married Larry Wayne in Marshallville, who preceded her in death in 2022.

Throughout her life, Sandy wore many hats, serving as a beautician, homemaker, and eventually as the owner and operator of Smithville Hardware until her retirement in 2016.

She was a cherished member of the Smithville Historical Society, where she found joy in sewing towels and contributing to the community's preservation. Sandy was renowned for her skill as a seamstress and had a passion for gardening, flowers, and bird watching. Above all, she found immense happiness in supporting her grandchildren.

Sandy is survived by her three daughters, Connie Stutzman of Orrville, Cristie (Norman) Robinett of Smithville, and Rochelle (Terry) Shane of Orrville, and her son, Shawn (Missy) Stutzman of Smithville. She leaves behind eight grandchildren, Ashley (Tom) Gross, Kellie (Will) Torres, Josh (Lianna) Stutzman, Toni Gregory, Morgan (Tyler) Davis, Tolan Shane, Trent Shane, and Sydney Shane, as well as 16 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her two sisters, Marilyn Hardgrove and Shirley (Sam) Sheller.

Private family services will be held at the convenience of the family, with Sandy being laid to rest alongside her beloved husband at St. Michael's Cemetery in Marshallville.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Michael's United Church of Christ, 22 East Euclid Street, P.O. Box 198, Marshallville, OH 44645.

Sandy's memory will forever be cherished by all who knew and loved her. May she rest in eternal peace.
